The next couple of months are going to be busy. I have volunteered to take part in several events. These include an Ask Me Anything webinar, a workshop, a Power Hour and another online talk. Its all very exciting.

22 Midlands Testers Went

Mark Twain said “There is no such thing as a new idea. It is impossible. We simply take a lot of old ideas and put them into a sort of mental kaleidoscope. We give them a turn and they make new and curious combinations. We keep on turning and making new combinations indefinitely; but they are the same old pieces of colored glass that have been in u…

Sketchnoting Workshop

How much do you love my sketchnotes? Wish you could create equally informative and beautiful sketchnotes?

I will be running a sketch-noting workshop on the 31st August at 1pm (UK Time) as part of the Ministry of Testing’s new series of 99 Minute workshops. During this workshop, we will complete some activities designed to:

  • Improve your general notetaking skills while listening to a conference or meetup talk
  • Improve your drawing skills and give you the confidence to share these drawings
  • Create sketch-notes based on pre-written notes.

Click here to sign up. This will require a Ministry of Testing Pro membership.

If you can’t make this workshop, I will be running this workshop several times throughout the year at various time zones. These will be announced at a later date.

Sketchnoting Power Hour

I have also agreed to take part in a Power Hour event on the Ministry of Testing Club, the main topic being sketchnoting. They have run several of these over the years, which I’ve always enjoyed taking part in. Naturally, I was pleased when they approached me to run one myself.

The power hour events involve inviting people to ask any question they want about a certain topic. The host will answer as many of these questions as they can in an hour.

The topic of this power hour: Sketchnoting!

Click here to submit your questions. I look forward to hearing and answering your questions.

Test Bash Manchester (Online)

Last year, I attended my first ever Test Bash event. This was especially exciting for me because I was also one of the speakers. It was such an experience. I’d describe Test Bash as the friendliest conference I’ve ever been to.

I am excited to announce that I have been invited to speak at this years Test Bash Manchester event. This time, instead of Manchester, the conference will be entirely online. It will include a series of lunch time talks, taking place on the days leading up to the conference, and then a full day of talks. The success of Test Bash Home (the first online Ministry of Testing conference) means that this is likely to be an equally successful event. I am thrilled to be apart of it.

My talk, Don’t Run Before You Can Walk, will take place at 1pm on Tuesday 29th September. During this talk, I will be discussing the challenges of learning a new testing skill (specifically Test Automation) and how to overcome these challenges.
